Battery Discharge Issues (MG TF 135 - 55 Plate)
Hey guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have a bit of a problem which has been referenced on this site but never fully answered. Also my issue seems to be rather odd.
I have an MG TF 135 (new head gasket sadly as of a month ago) which is now displaying a very odd battery problem.
A couple of months ago the battery went flat after standing for 1 week. I jumped it, and drove it more often and it stayed alive a little longer. It appeared that battery was on it's last legs so I purchased a new one.
The new one has been excellent for a while. As of the last few weeks, if I leave the car for 3 - 4 days the battery tends to have dropped to 11v. This fails to start the car and I get the relay clicking. Jump start the car and it's fine.
Things I have done:
* Bought a solar panel which plugs in via the Cig lighter
* Tested the battery with a multi meter:
12.2v standing (engine turned off) 13.7 v running (Alt is clearly kicking in) 12.7v with solar panel plugged in (so it does seem to work)
* I have removed my radio (which is a fairly recent purchase) to see if that's impacting things
I haven't checked my boot light is staying on yet however I imagine that would drain the battery completely and it started ok this morning (I checked these things last night) and yet this morning the car started ok with a little voltage drop (it was still hovering above 12v just)
The final thing I noticed is that in the fuse box under the bonnet there are about 6 large fusable links. The 60A battery one (At the top, yellow case) appears to have corrosion on one side of the link, would this cause resistant issues?
Regardless I would like to get it fixed and was wondering if it's something I can do myself? (I can't find the fusable links to replace it)
Any information would be great, I assume the Alt is functioning as having tested it running the V's go up, and after a drive the battery appeared to have charged again.

Cheers everyone,
Felix
