Complete Disaster!

Hi guys

Right I have a problem with my MG ZR 2.0 TD quite a big problem I think (overfilled with oil) so I first noticed something was wrong with my car when I seemed to go over 2000 revs black smoke would come out of the exhaust at the back. At first thought my car just need a good boot but when I finished work checked my oil and the dipstick pretty dry. So I went to my nearest Tesco and bought 4 litres of oil put it all in not knowing (I’ve learnt my lesson now trust me)

So…….this is where it gets interesting! Started my car after about 5 mins and started fine drove away like normal when I was pulling away I seemed to lose power and the car started revving on its own I didn’t have the accelerator down. So pulled over straight away took the keys our of the ignition and it was still revving it’s arse off ( I **** myself) the entire street cover in grey/white smoke! So I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve over filled the car with oil and its running on oil I presume?

So I sort of know a guy who is a trainee mechanic who got the car towed back to a garage and he said he drained out the oil (there was quite a bit of extra oil I didn’t need!) He said my engine is knackered and I have a bent rod? Now I’ve asked someone else and he said that you cannot tell if you have a bent rod unless you strip your engine. So I’m not sure what quite to believe now… someone else said at work to drain the oil out fill it back up and see how it runs. Well this “trainee mechanic” hasn’t done that and just said that the engine is knackered.

Has anyone had a similar experience or help me in anyway thanks.

As you can tell in the images there are a couple of things missing which he took off
