Directional vs asymmetric?

Sorry another tyre question! Should I put directional tyres on the rear of my TF? I need to replace toyo tr1's which have been great in all conditions and was intending to replace with the same...friend offering used hankook ventus prime with loads of tread for nothing...but these are asymmetric? The question is what would you do?
