Summer wheels

Any who have been following the FB blog will know I love the wheels on this Liberty Walk 458







The wheels are red chromed.. or adonised red over highly polished Aluminium



Been looking for a similar wheel.. found some Oz rims at £340 each! gulp



But have now ordered one of these as a test

Thanks to Ashley Ive found a company in Leeds who claim to be able to powder coat it in red chrome.. at around £150 a rim



So plan is once the new rim arrives I'll pop up to Leeds.. deliver the wheel and have a chat..



If the wheel turns out right the other 3 will get ordered (17" front.. 18" rears)



Plan is use the 'blades' for winter wheels with proper winter tyres on.. then use the red chrome wheels for summer use with cut slicks on (one or two sets a year depending on mileage/track day abuse)



Right at the start of the build Guru Pitka advised me to swap the PCD to a more common size.. We chose 5x100 and have had the wheel flanges custom made with Celica spigot ring all made into the flange.. This now means any Celica wheel fits straight on



4x100 PCD 18" alloys are hard to source and limited in design options.. swap to 5x100 and the choice is huge..
