VVC Timing problem

What started out as what I thought would be a simple task has turned into a nightmare.



I cant get the timing right on my VVCF.



The problem is I can lineup the timing marks on the cams ok But when I come to turn the engine over to line up the crank shaft marks I can only turn it about a quarter turn before it locks up I have checked and rechecked the timing marks on the cams and they appear OK.



Does any one have any ideas???please
