dash clock bulbs

Hi guys got some blue leds for my clocks they replace the light for the needles and dials however they don't seem to be strong enough to penetrait the dial just the needle so I can't see speed or revs ???? How rubbish is that 10 quid for nothing is there anything I can do to make them brighter I was recomended to sand them down but it's not helped if not does anyone know the part numbers for both sets of bulbs so I can look for something? ? They do make the needle look cool tho
