are all alternators the same?

hi,got my mums rover 25 1.6 16v auto,wondering if anyone can tell me if all k series alternators are the same(even off older model rovers?)



battery keeps draining,and i know these have probs with alternators going wrong and causing it to drain battery,so wondered what my options are when looking around the scrappy,are they all same,loads different types etc?,cheers
