Are you stripping a TF? Can you help?

Im hoping someone here might be able to help. I broke the stud that holds the rear 3 way brake union to the back wall. I have been exploring options for a solution and I am considering rivnuts ans rivstuds (or equivalent). Im trying to find out how much space there is between the petrol tank low down on the rear passenger side and the wall next to the engine bay. it would be helpful if i could establish the thickness of the metal on that panel.
