Coolant system

hi you lot,changed the rad on my car in the last couple of days had a right job with the top hose,cutting it short apparantly whoever changed the rad last put a bloody zr rad in so when i come to put the new zs one in the top hose didnt match and struggling to get one ,anyway managed to get to the scrap yard and for a temp measure ripped one off a rover 25 which i did get fitted to mine treouble is now the heaters when driving are burning hot ,the top and bottom hose are red hot the radiator is cold and there is no pressure in the expansion bottle at all i have unscrewed the bleed nut and only antifreeze came out ......any ideas please at my wits end :crying:
