Drying footwear out

Is it possible to dry the driver footwear out after having a large puddle due to sunroof leak without removing the carpets.

I have dried it out as much as possible with towels- placing towel on wet patch and standing on it to help absorb.



Will it dry out by having the heater blowing down when the car is being used or is it a carpet out job?
