hard top question

Hello all. I have just bought a hard top for my 2003 plate mgtf vvc and will have to travel from Devon to Worcester to collect it. I've looked on the forum and found some useful advice about fitting it however my soft top has a glass rear window and all the instructions I've seen only cover the plastic window. Does this make any difference to how the hard top will fit? Also, do I need to take anything else with me other than the car? I don't want to get all the way up there and then discover I should have brought something else with me lol!! My last concern is that the metal band thingy that holds the soft top onto the back of the car is rusty I have been on here previously about this however no one seems to know how I can get a new one. Apparently it's not sold separately so is impossible to obtain. I guess the only way would be to get one from a scrappy? All help and advice very very gratefully received........... Many thanks
