2010 mg tf 135 mot

Hello!

I took my 2009/2010 MG TF 135 for its MOT to the garage this morning for the first time since I bought it 10 months ago. Unfortunately the mechanics there found quite a few issues and I wanted to confirm that the pricing is not unreasonable. Given this is central London I do expect for the prices to be inflated a bit

- Nearside front track rod end £103.27 incl- Nearside rear shock absorber £239.40 incl

- Adjust headlight aim £19.08 incl

- Offside front brake caliper £210.23 incl

Add the MOT and this adds up to £620+ worth of repairs. Obviously the quotes for the caliper/shock absorber are from the specialists who will charge "retail" prices. Now this is quite a hefty amount and I was wondering if it is worth taking the bullet as it is or if it is worth spending more while I am at it and replacing more things i.e. instead of paying £240 for a standard shock absorber pay £500 for all four Bilstein ones (assuming I could find them pronto!)

What do you guys reckon - not much experience here!

Nick
