Leaky boot
I've got a 2004 MG ZR with a leaky boot. It was leaking into both back corners beneath the light clusters. I've replaced the light seals and stopped any water ingress from there. I also found that the vent beneath the N/S rear light was very lose so I've refitted that but it's still a bit lose. I've also checked the seal on the rubber connector sleeves at the top of the tail gate (for the washer tube and the wiring loom) and these both seem fine. However I'm still getting water in the N/S rear corner.
I suspect that it could still be entering around the rear vent but I can't find a part number or a source for a replacement rubber seal ... can anybody help please.
I've also noticed that there are two 1/2" diameter black tubes running down from the C pillars at both sides and discharging into a rubber fitting which exits outside the car behind the bumper (I suspect that they're drainage hoses for something). I noticed a couple of drops of water on the outside of the N/S tube and wondered whether this could be causing the problem. Does anybody know what these tubes are for as I can't see what they can be draining (the sunroof drains to the front of the car).
Any help gratefully received!
