First long run after hose split and mild overheating in my 1.8t

Today I did the first long run in my MG ZT 1.8t following a split hose a few weeks ago and some overheating. I replaced that little split hose to the Turbocharger with a good used spare a few weeks ago and since then, most trips have been less than twenty miles.

Today I took up some 18" Hairpins to have them powder coated by a firm in Birmingham I've used several times before. They will be ready next week. I chose Brilliant White Gloss... Brilliant. Should suit my dark grey ZT ( according to DVLA ) which to my eyes is nearly black with a touch of blue.Yer Tis ~ Anthracite ?

Dropped those bare wheels off and moved about twenty five miles east and picked up a PG1 gearbox. Trip showed over 140 miles for the round trip which included mostly M5 and M42 fast Motorway miles as well as lots of stop-start stuff in Birmingham.

With the previous over heating in mind I kept a close watch for any signs of steam and also checked the temperature gauge frequently. If anything was not right then that run should have revealed it. Car ran well.

So looks like the car has not suffered as a result of that split hose and loss of coolant ... so far. Will still continue to monitor it and I will check the coolant level in the cold engine tomorrow. Just in case.

I quite like Brilliant White Gloss ... Brilliant :~
