MGF rear wheel noise
This may have been covered before but I can't find it!
My driver's side rear wheel makes a noise on rotation and the regularity of the noise increases or decreases with speed.
Local mechanic though it could be a worn bearing and has replaced this but the noise persists.
I am sure it is more likely linked to the braking system as the noise is there when the brakes are off but ceases when they are fully applied.
The noise sounds a little like a metallic ticking but is not a raspy scratchy sound.
I can see through the wheel that the pads do not have any anti-chatter shims but have been told these are not necessary.
The brake discs and pads have been replaced in the last few months but the noise has not gone.
Can anyone help? It is bugging the hell out of me but has no effect on straight line stability or braking effort - just an annoying ticking which won't go away (unless I turn the radio up)!
Thanks for your help.
