Push together clips on PS reservoir pipes - removal of?
I've got the power steering leak back again, it's coming out from the reservoir pipes and trickling down everywhere on the left hand side of the engine (alternator belts etc). I want to solve this one myself as any mechanic I've approached isn't interested in putting jubilee clips on the rubber hoses!
Two questions:
1) Can a remove the push together clips without the proper tool?
And if so
2) I'm assuming that I'd have to be quick as the fluid would be rushing out of the reservoir but once I'd introduce air into the system can I get rid off it by turning the wheel lock to lock?
I'd be tempted to use the Dremel to cut the old clips but would have to be very careful not to cut the rubber hoses, so any other method would be better.
I've read the thread from 2013 which suggests the reservoir tubes have a ridge running along the plastic which causes a bit of weeping over time. It suggests using a blade to trim this away before re-attaching rubber hoses with jubilee clips.
