RED-HOT Brake Disc
Evening all,
I have noticed a clicking sound from the front right corner after returning home for the last few days but tonight it was happening more than before so I investigated. The disc was red-hot! I mean so hot you could easily have lit a cigarette from it (if you could have got close enough without your face bursting into flames...). It was like a service halt in Group B rally days.. The other side was just warm, as I wouold expect so rather than the system being pressurised I assume this is a stuck caliper.
Is this a common issue?
What is the best way to fix it please?
Will I get away with simply unbolting the caliper, getting someone to gently press the brake pedal to (hopefully) move the piston out a little, ease the cover seal off clean / copper grease the piston and put it all back together?
Thanks,
B
