Srs pyro clip

Hi folks

Totally stripped the interior out of my mg zr td facelift and have silent coated the interior.

Yet when I took front seats out I broke the clips that are underneath the seat that connect to the seat belt tensioner next to handbrake.

Can I do away with that clip entirely and just connect the wires direct with say bullet connectors to the seat wires or is there a reason for that clip.
