Trying to save a poor old 75.
I've picked up a 2000'w' Rover 75 1.8 club from a friend that had been laid up on his drive for a while, paid him scrap value for it, with the intention of breathing a bit of life into it as its a nice little car with a pretty low mileage (69k) and will be perfect nice, cheap car for someone.
Sent it for an MOT today and here is whats come back:
Offside rear fog lamp not working.
This is an easy fix, the whole lamp cluster needs replacing due to corrosion from water ingress, some of the pins have snapped
ABS Lamp is illuminated.
This needs some investigation, the ABS fuses are removed currently. when refitted the ABS activates constantly at low speed, assuming faulty sensor?
Steering locking device is inoperative
I think this is the MOT tester misinterpreting the new rules, this test is for cars with electronic steering locks AND manufactured after sept 2001, but would still like to get it working if possible
parking brake below requirements
another easy fix, the rear disks are very corroded due to sitting out in the weather and not moving, a wire wheel should clean them up enough to pass.
Nearside rear upper suspension arm is severely distorted
This is possibly a major problem, the nearside rear wheel has noticeable positive camber, I had noticed it but assumed it was a failed bush.
Apparently the upper arm is slightly bent probably due to something hitting the top of the wheel quite hard, it will need replacing with a good used one.
If anyone has come across any of these issues before or has any thoughts on how to tackle any of them, your input would be appreciated.
I'll keep this thread updated with progress.
Cheers
