Plus, whilst under my ownership, underside of car has been wax oiled. Rear springs both sides (genuine Rover xpart) replaced. Alternator and battery replaced. Spare battery. Front strut mountings replaced. Tyres replaced. Front brake pipes and hoses, both sides replaced. Auto Gear box transmission oil replaced.


Condition: Above average for year inside and outside.

Vehicle's History:


BX04 YEF began life at Longbridge as a standard pre-facelift model vehicle. The car was then re-commissioned by MG Rover Group to become a Press Car, used during Rover’s 100th Centenary Celebrations held at Ragley Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire. It was at this Event the 2004 facelift models were unveiled. Copies of these images are in this vehicles history file.
After this Event, BX04 YEF was handed out to various journalistic magazines etc., for test drives and reviews, one of which is also included in this vehicles history file. Another review was in AUTOCAR magazine dated 13th April 2004, in which the car featured favourably in a Group Test with a Jaguar X-Type 2.0D estate, Volvo V50 2.0D SE estate, BMW 320D ES estate. Actual copy of Autocar magazine is in this vehicles history file.

After the sad demise of MG Rover Group in 2005, BX04 YEF lay unloved and forgotten somewhere at the Longbridge factory along with many other completed vehicles until the car was auctioned in October 2007 to the Car Dealer whom I purchased from in December 2007.


Being a Contemporary SE model, this vehicle already had a very high specification as standard, however, in addition to this, a few bespoke ‘Monogram’ options as listed above, were fitted to this vehicle which would have brought the OTR price to approx £34,000.00 when new in 2004.
