clock illumination

I have an mg zs 180 and recently the light went in the clock so i followed instructions and removed the centre console, replaced the bulb and reassembled, now the light on the clock still doesn't work, but neither the hazard switch or the heated rear window switch light up but both switchs work.Any ideas please?
