Management changes in the offing at SAIC MG?

In an interesting article which discusses the future of the Alfa Rome and MG brands, Clive Goldthorpe speculates that the resignation of Briton and former Austin Rover man, Simon Thomas as Global Head of Marketing for Volkswagen AG together with MG's subsequent near-£30m acquisition London showrooms may be linked to changes underway at SAIC MG. Perhaps this might explain why Guy Jones left MG UK in January and has not been replaced?

Clive also notes the paucity of information from MG and contrasts it to the Alfa-Romeo's well-publicised plans. He notes that
no information on what the London showrooms and offices mean for the future of MG have been communicated. He adds that although images of the MG GT, the facelifted MG6 and the forthcoming MG GS SUV, have been circulating on the web for some time, not even MG's UK dealers can say when/if each of those models will reach the UK. (I'm not sure this last section is entirely correct. As far as I'm aware, the GT is not coming to the UK and the SUV is coming in 2016 so it's the facelift MG6 where the lack of clarity is. And the GT is already on sale in China. But these are side issues.)
