Potentially Selling Up soon, any views on rough valuation
Hi all I am after 4 years roughly now of ownership looking at moving on and back to the cars I know and like the best and have a few in mind.
I am just at a loss with the market at present as it seems prices are so random and sporadic, any below I have detailed the car as best I can whilst here at work and was wondering what you guys would say to look at selling it for.
Model - MG ZR 1.4 105hp
Number Doors - 3
Colour - LQW Anthracite 1998-2004
Number Owners - 2 or 3 inc me
Mileage when I bought it - 62,500
Current Mileage 120,250
Service History - Full with all documents inc original sale document
MOT - Nov if I remember correctly (No advisories or failures in over 4yrs)
Current Use - Social & Pleasure Only
Wheels - 17" Straights (some curbed, one quite bad but not buckled etc)
Tyres - All good and plenty of tread
H.Gasket, Cambelt, Waterpump etc - Circa 90K in Dec 2013 I think it was
Description
This car was bought by a woman from new. She the gave it to her son who I bought it off of circa 4 years ago now on 62.5K miles and so I cant recal whether she left it in her name and she was the only prev owner or whether he put it in his name meaning 2 previous owners, eitherway it was family owned in the same house until I bought it and all original documents are present.
I am a mature owner with no need to drive this car hard of fast (as if you see my history of cars I would not need too as this is not why I bought the ZR). The car is 100% standard and maintained regardless of cost, it came from the factory with the Sideskirts and the 17" straights. Brand new downpipe, cat and centre pipe in 2013 due to a garage damaging my system and so they were made to replace it all, brand new backbox on order at present and on the way to be fitted this/next week.
The car has had the uprated Headgasket change along with the waterpump and Cambelt, the waterpump I received was leaking and so a new one and another cambelt was fitted a few months later. A full service history is present and the car otherwise only has the normal day to day use marks on it, few scratches here and there (non major) small dent into the middle of the rear bumper where someone reversed into it with a tow bar and the drivers seats has a rip/tear in it on the lower right side.
The Paint scrubs up nicely as can be seen in previous posts along with any the issues I have had with the car and the resolutions found.
The only issues I have had in my 4 years ownership were the brakes, a seized slider pin and a bit of metal grinding a brake disc that was a simple fix.
This car has been and still is a very very reliable runner, it starts first time every time, runs smoothly and is getting me an average of 41-44mpg to every tank as I drive this slowly and carefully as I only drive to training and back and too and from my daughters when I have her at the weekends. I am only considering selling in order to move onto the kind of cars I know and love best before having to sell my house and move into a bigger family home.
So any advice or comments on rough price I could advertise this for would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Carl
