Under Bonnet Pump and Engine Warning Light
2004 Auto Diesel Con SE 169K Miles Owned from new
May 2009 I posted that my UBP had been making a vibrating noise for some time, I ignored it and it went away, last week the engine would not pull above 2000 RPM and when stopped in park it would not rev above 3000 RPM when it sounded like a rev limiter was stopping it going any higher. When I got home I found the UBP would not run until tapped with my small shifter, the original as fitted in tank pump was running, I made a mistake and tried starting the engine with the UBP not running and an engine warning light came on and is still on.
I purchased a new pump from Discount Rover Spares, fitted it yesterday and the car is running well without further problem, I have also cleaned and dried the original as fitted MAF, which may also have been playing up.
My question is can someone please recommend a reader that I can purchase to remove the engine warning light.
Many thanks in advance
Tony
