MGF boot key / lock - won't turn (i.e. I can't get in)

Before I have to have the mechanism removed / I have to break in, any possible tips about a 'seized' boot lock. TBH, seized is the wrong word - no indication of the mechanism engaging at all, so much so I'm more likely to snap the key than get any movement in the lock. Tried wd40, of course, and wiggled endlessly / tried other keys / tried on/off central locking etc etc...

Fairly urgent - I'm on the Isle if Man and all my stuff is in the boot!! However, I can always buy a toothbrush....
