My wife has cooked the engine in her 2002 45 1.4. I'm just going to stick another engine in as this one has over 130,000 and she has got it really hot. My question is are all the 1.4 and 1.6 K's the same? Because if they are it will broaden my search a bit more, I know the earlier ones have distributors, I just want to know if the k's from around 99 on wards to 2005 are all the same IE the gearboxes are different on the later ones, does that mean the block is different, also if I fit a 1.6 will the ECU communicate with it OK. I will swap all the ancillaries from the old engine on to the new and of course will be fitting a new timing belt and water pump along with a new inlet manifold gasket. Can anyone help save another Rover from the scrap yard? PS I am a long time member on here but haven't been active for a long time, I had to re register as I forgot my old password and the Email address it was registered to is no longer in use. THANKS in advance for any help.
