Rover owners: unsure idf introduced myslelf ??

well as the title says i am not sure if i have/did . well anyway i am john . i live just outside cambridge , i bought an mgf 1.8 vvc on T plate last year with headgasket blown and cambelt failure . bought manual and cam locking tool as replacement parts came with car ( bonus 16 new gen rover valves ) had great fun setting valve timing with hydralic / electric sensor + second belt , well all done and together and after battery charge run up after about 8 turns of engine great i thought until last winter as thought heater not warming up ( ah thermostate ) sure got to where i was going 90 odd miles as couldn't cancel christmas . well 5 mins from my destination and water temp goes in red oil temp as high as gauge goes ( big bummer ) anyway before leaving filled with water and topped up oil and set off about 9 miles temp goes up so look for somewhere to park up ( A rd ) but next bang cab filles up with steam mrs panics thinking cars on fire . well no breakdown cover so parked in local hotel car park plus got coffee left my name keys , looked on Any van site ( bloody good ) got car home so had all inlet manifold off again reassembled ., red on a forum about going the PRT route so bought one of certain auction site and got one off 160 mgf so manifold off again gutted old thermostate reasembled got car in air ( winter this is freezing on the rd ) removed pipes from stainless got frozz with cold iced water . after messing about for a few days got it fitted and thought new rad as someone had put that crap sealer in system at some point . glad i did change it as it fell to bits when i pulled out of locating rubbers . but since shes good as gold ( touch wood ) then got myself a scorpion back box and decat pipe sounds great and pops and bangs when i let off throttle , so now going for stainless front and down pipe . now bought another same year and vvc again as my donor and stripping the leather interior out to put in my babe and getting MK 2 gear surround and knob walnut effect dash and vent surrounds . now all that said i love working on them so if your near and need any mechanical work done you can't do yourself let me know on here . just replaced clutch and pressure plate on mates one and finally i am a mechanic by trade . phew now need beer after all this typing and a ciggy . stay cool all yours john or my biker name jaybe
