Clear your messages Query. How about an Auto-alert. Can this be done?

Over the years I've been using this enthusiasts web-site, now lost count of the times I've tried to send a PM to members only to have it rejected with the following warning message :~

********* has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

Sometimes results in losing a lengthy message which is wasteful.

Is there some way members can be advised that their PM Box is full with an "Auto-alert" so that they can pre-empt lost messaging in that way?
