It's nice to go for a proper drive once in a while...

Since my ZR spends a lot of it's time tucked away in the garage and it's recently had a new head gasket, water pump, belts and fluids I thought it's about time for a proper day out. So I picked a nice day for weather and went down to Gaydon Motor Museum and back home to Newcastle again in a day...

It's been a while since I driven it down the motorways and back. I think MG Live 2013 was it's last big outing. I still find it impressive how easily and happily it will cruise at illegal speeds with not much throttle all day long. It makes you wonder what the point is in owning anything faster as I couldn't even fully exploit the 1.8 k on British roads.

I'm pleased to see that not a drop of fluid was used at all either, a nice relief after the weeping cam seals and slow external coolant leak from before.

Just one pic from the Motor Museum car park...

A great museum it is, full of MG-Rover history including some of the last cars out of Longbridge under the Austin and Rover brands. A nice MG X-Power SV is there too. Maybe I could start a thread with relevant MG/Rover/Austin pics in another section of the forum if anyone is interested?
