Airbag light MOT

Uh-oh, my MOT mechanic does not know how to fix the airbag light. He tells me the computer is not giving any information and the estimate is a blank cheque to start checking the thousands of wires in this car..

I have suggested he check the cables/plugs under the driver's seat, and he reports that they are all good.

He is actually very good at the heavy mechanics, but this isn't one of those problems. The car is off-the-road in South East London. Can someone please help, urgently as car-rental is slowly bleeding me?
