Fuel Cap Question

Just received a nice shiny new fuel filler cap. Swapped the barrel over as per CJJ's how to and not sure it is fitting so well!

The one I removed was different had a flat black seal whereas the new one has a green seal. It sits slightly proud of the body work and I can't tell if it is really sealing.

Have I got the wrong one?
