R414 too high Manifold Pressure?
R414 too high Manifold Pressure?
Hi, I own '98 Rover 400 with 1.4 K-Series engine. The fuel consumption is a bit too high and I think that it is because of vacuum leak or something like that and because of that it is overfuelling. When getting hard on acceleration pedal I can hear something like turbo sound - an air whoosh from around 3K RPM.
On hot idle my MAP Sensor reports around 45kPa, I read somewhere that it should be well under 40kPa on completly stock engine, like mine. With engine stopped it show 100kPa like it should.
Because of too much air(I suppose) lambda sensor (or O2 sensor as you call it) is making the FuelTrim value to be around 116-118% which is overfuelling and it can explain high fuel consumption in city driving.
What do I check first?
