Whirring noise

Hi,



MG ZR 1.8 on 06 plate facelift model, when driving along, sometimes get a whirring noise (if you say wwwwwwwwww) that is the noise, lol. Worse when I put the car into reverse. Now, I had the car checked the other day, garage said all wheels are fine, no play in them and discs and pads are all new, they seem to think it could be brake related? Seems worse in reverse, maybe rubbing on a pad? Also, a bit worse when turning right. Any ideas?
