ZR Rally car development
Don't know if this is of any interest to you guys but I am currently starting a bit of development on the Mg ZR rally car i bought last summer.
I bought the car with a standard 1.4 engine, just remapped and different exhaust. I had a standard R65 gearbox and single rate avo suspension.
I have done 3 rallies so far in in, DNF'd the first due to the crappy R65 gearbox, 4th in class on the second and 2nd in class on the third.
Since then I have quite a long list of upgrades to add to the car over the next few months.
Quaife dog box with gripper diff and 5.1/1 cwp which will be rebuit
Penske two way suspension which is in need of new springs, cross overs and a service
Moving on to the engine I bought a donor vvc car for the engine then have the following on the way:
Emerald ecu and adaptor
ported vvc head by hellier
vvc blank
vernier's
piper 1320 cams
piper springs
piper caps
sump baffle
head gasket, belts, bolts etc etc
elise parts light weight flywheel
helix paddle clutch with elise parts uprated release bearing
I will try and keep a bit of a update as things happen.
