Rover owners: Brakes - what a surprise!

There will always be surprises...

A few days ago, I changed over my winter wheels to my summer wheels (Pretty common in Norway...). I always have a look over and check the suspension components, brakes and gaiters when I have the wheels of to catch eventually upcomming proplems. I use a screwdriver to push the caliper pistons fully in to check that the sliders and pads move freely before putting the new wheels on. To my surprise, one of the rear brake pad linings just fell of its metal backing when doing this. The car was MOT-ed two weeks ago without any advice and everything looked fine when the wheel was off. After removing the caliper, it revealed some pretty rotten brake pads. This pi..es me off in a way and the car was made unusable for two days. Glad I spotted this as I am planning a longer trip with my family next week. New pads bought and fitted and everything seems well. The discs could need to be replaced to, but It should be good for now. The new pads will probably bed in nicely after some miles :D
