MG ZS 180 Cambelt Snapped..

On my way home last night cruising 65 ish down a dual carriage way and the engine stopped, no bangs no clatters.. .SO I knocked it to neutral and coasted to the petrol station 200 yards away which was the only lucky thing about last night.. car wouldn't start.. so I gets me elm out and had a look, error P340 Cam position sensor... oh great, I knew where this was going...

But took the sensor out and cleaned it up, nada... Balls!

So of come the cover bolts for my camshaft.. yup shafted!

Will take the head off in the next few days to have a look but not sure if this is going to be economical to fix, might be a project.. Gutted as I just spent £1000 on it doing clutch, clutch kit, driveshafts aircon and rod ends as well as other things.. cambelt was on my todo list next month! had the engine replaced less than 5 years ago due to water damage so this thing had only covered 36k miles... looking at it the belt was rubbing on the cover, this almost certainly caused premature failure... no a good day!
