New Rover 75 owner with a few issues

Some of you may know that I have recently upgraded from a Rover 25 to a 75 tourer. I love the car its great to drive and being a Conni SE has lots of toys too, I do have a couple of issues that I'm hoping some of you may be able to help with though, first things first here is a pic of the car, its the only one I have at the moment, it was taken just after cleaning it ready for POL.







The first issue I think is just a loose wire, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about tightening it, basically on Saturday I was having trouble starting it, I called Green flag out after ruling out the battery and they had a look at the start motor and found that the cable running into it (white in colour) was loose, after pushing it back in/wiggling it or whatever the car started and ran fine, when I asked him how I could stop it happened again he just said to try tightening it, but I can't see where to tighten it?



The second problem is, I noticed while cleaning the inside of the car ready for POL, the carpet in the back in the rear drivers side footwell was wet, I couldn't see any evidence of where it had come from, so I just dried it as best I could and then put some dehumidifier bags I had lying around underneath the mat. We were away yesterday and today so I didn't get chance to have another look until tonight, it hasn't got any worse but still feels a bit wet, if I get chance after work trw, I'm going to try and dry it properly with a hair dryer, but it the event it does come back (and I have a feeling it will) does anyone have any idea where it may be coming from?
