MOT time again and LSM problems cured
Yes its MOT time again tomorrow. Today changed the headlight H7 bulbs as last year I had an advisory on one light being dimmer than the other. Guess what? The bulb on the offside was hanging out of the socket. Its a cr*p design. You need the hands of a three year old through the access hole under the wing, but eventually worked out how it went together.
Also last year the fog lights came on of their own accord and would drain the battery overnight, pulled the fuse and all was well. I bought a second hand LSM from ebay but was advised it was not a direct swap out if the car had done over 100k. So I never got around to change it.
As its the MOT tomorrow, reinserted the 15A fuse and the fogs came on again. Decided to swap out the LSM and hey presto it all works fine. Even the background lights on the module don't light up until key is turned. So even well over 100k the LSM is swappable. Now I'm well lit and chuffed. I will let you know if it passes and if my advisory list turns into War and Peace.
