I am in mourning... I think I may have killed it!
Hi All,
My MGF 1.8 VVC has been running just fine for a while now but then the other day I was on my way home and (luckily) was less than a mile away when it suddenly started sounding funny...
I thought the noise was a tractor or loud bike behind me and didn't feel any different but at the point I was driving quite slowly as I was coming into the village.
I was hoping the exhaust or flexi-pipe was broken but I have just been under it and everything looks ok. Unfortunately the motor is vibrating a lot more than previously and it sounds like this:

Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong with it? It starts first time and I can't see any gasses escaping from the manifold, flexi or exhaust joints or damage to them, the exhaust and cat are recent and stainless. I am wondering if it is an exhaust valve or maybe running on 3?
All I can see is a shed load of money just floating away with the noise on the breeze! :shake:
Any ideas would be welcome! Ta,
Nick
