rover 45 new fuel pump

hi just looking for some advice really...just got a rover 45 diesel 2005..54 plate...its had full service history with 49000 miles on the clock...ive just been told the fuel pump has gone....is this something my local garage can repair or does it need some sort of special coding doing that only a specialist can do...and does any1 know of a good place to get the work done..i live in sheerness on the isle of Sheppey kent....any help would be lovely....many thanks adam
