turbo slows down after +- 2800 rpm mg zr 115
Hi all,
I already have introduced myself in the board and wanted to buy a rover 25 but eventually I didn't. I bought a mg zr 2006 2.0 TD 115. It looks amazing to me.
The belts from the diesel pump and cambelt have just been changed.
I just have it since three days but inmediatly I found it driving rather strange torquewise, not normal.
The car pulls very well and boost kicks in around 1800 rpm till around 2800 rpm. Then I can feel a real boost drop and eventho I can hear the boost slightly it doesn't pull well. It's like I only have a 1000 rpm boost range. For me it really slows down after 2800 rpm.
I have researched a bit and I'm guessing it will be the MAF sensor but I'm not sure. To be honest I don't want to test it yet by unplugging since I have warranty on the car and also because it will give a warning light which will be risking losing my warranty. BUT I do want to make sure that its that and that the car dealer doesn't say that its normal just because I don't know it for sure.
The dealer is on holiday for two weeks so I can't just pass by and tell him.
So my question is to you all who have encountered this problem or know about the problem. Is this normal or is this due to a bad MAF sensor?
Thanks a lot in advance.
