Bedofrd Autodrome Track Day! Great evening all round!

Wow, what an evening! We had a company evening at Bedford Autodrome, using what they called the South West Circuit, which is just under 3miles. Only had the 180 for just over 2 weeks. 84K miles, 53 plate Mk1. It has a Janspeed cat-back exhaust and some home made DIY air filter (very poor, sits just behind the radiator, no ducting etc). New Pagid disks (not drilled/grooved) with Yellow Stuff pads (up front, the rears have been replaced recently before we bought it, so left those alone), ATE Super Blue brake fluid and brand new Yokohama rubber. Brimmed with Shell V-Power and ready to rock
Its my 2nd ever trip to the track, the first one was with my brother in law in his supercharged Elise last year in the wet. Have to say, the 180 was great! To be honest wasnt expecting too much, and was anticipating something breaking, but it ran flawlessly all night. No idea on the number of laps, but there wasnt any point where we thought we had better stop! Maybe after half a dozen laps the brakes were starting to loose some bite, but they didnt stop working (I was a passenger in a Mondeo and after 3 laps, his foot went to the floor), so pleased with those. The new Yokos were great to, (road tyres, Parada Spec 2), very sticky, and gripped excellently.
Has anyone else run around Bedford, and if yes, what top speed were you getting at the end of the long back straight before the chicane? I managed about 115mph before braking heavily arounf the 100m board. Sound about right?
All in all, a great evening, and since it was a private event, the track was pretty clear most of the time, maybe only 20 cars there, and of course only a handful on track at any time, so lots of unhindered open track to have fun on!
And they also supplied a Le-Mans Prototype racer for rides an absolutely amazing piece of kit! The cornering and especially the braking is astounding!
So, all in all, we were very pleased with the 180! A great sounding and driving car! A pity Ive only heard it from inside would love to hear it drive by the pits on full throttle! Maybe next time!
