Do these mythical power surges exist?
Been reading a few threads, with members describing the noticable shove in power around 3k and 4.5k rpm, relating the butterflies opening etc in the KV6 manifold/plenum.
To be honest, I've never felt these, the car just accelerates smoothly to the redline.
So, are these little "boosts" actually noticable, or is this one of those internet myths where because you read/hear about it, you think you can feel them, akin to a placebo effect??
As per my other thread, we were pleased with how the car performed round the track (even managed to make the track instructor in his X5 let me pass, and an XF-R to). So I assume the engine is working pretty well....?!
So if the "boosts" exist, are they very noticable (I know, all very subjective), or are they tiny little variations that are easily missed? Just curious as I have only driven the 180 I own, and have no real reference point to compare to.
Cheers!
