Looking for something fun

I have a competition car I'm building up which is an Astra VXR but am looking for something fun to drive around in. Currently driving a 1.2 punto which I cant stand.



My options are an MG ZR (160) or ZS (180 but unsure on fuel) or a Hyundai Coupe 2.0 (146ish).



I had a 1.4 ZR when I was 18 which seemed rather nippy. Just looking for something under £1000 which decent bodywork, nnot bothered if theres mechanical faults (at the right price) as can fix it myself. Something with a bit of go and fun to drive.



Any advice as to which would be best?
