2 questions ???

I am losing water i put nearly a inch in my bottle today ...I cannot find a visible leak ...10,000mls ago (2 years) I had a new Metal Laminate triple layer Head gasket..water pump up-rated IMG belts etc it has been suggested that it could be the heat and the fact I do very short journeys ....any ideas on that one ....

Also whilst looking for a water leak i found globs of grease in the inner rim of my O/S tyre ...obvious gator split (probably when we fitted a new clutch 2 weeks ago) ..question is ..do i clean everything up and fit a split gator and save pulling everything to pieces ....get a proper gator to fit and fit and fit a new joint at the same time as i have a annoying knock which sounds as if it is from that side ....what would you do ????
