Head Gasket/Plasti Dip

Hi Everyone

I have a question to ask about head gaskets.

I own a 1.4 ZR which cost a lot of money to put right. Not including the head gasket.I took it to my local garage for a mot and it passed just needing new track rod ends.Job done

When I went to pick it up I got talking to the mechanics who were replacing a head gasket on another ZR.

During the conversation the mechanic told me that eventually my head gasket will go.Because they all do.This comment annoyed me slightly because I look after my car, and regularly check everything on it.

Surely not all ZRs are prone to head gasket failure?

Rover must have got it right some of the time.

All I hear is negative comments about Rover cars.

Are Rovers the only cars that get head gasket failure?

Sorry about moaning.Just fed up with hearing the same comments all the time.

On a completely different note.Has anybody heard of plasti dipping?

My car is red and has faded in the sun with a couple of supermarket dents and rust spots. But it is eleven years old.

I can't justify spending 1200 pounds on a re spray, but I,ve found a place in Corby Northants that will do all the bodywork, treat rust spots, dents etc for 500 pounds all in.As my car is probably only worth about 800 pounds.I think it is quite a good deal. But I need to find out more about it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Danny
