Problem with my 160 engine
I'm after some advice to try & root out the cause off my engine troubles. Over the last 8-9 months I've had a few problems with my engine which have been sorted out but it seems that every time I sort 1 problem another pops up! The latest 1 started when the weather got cooler in the mornings, basically on cold air morning start up when the idle is set high so as to warm the engine it doesn't sit at the 11-1200 mark, instead it bounces around between 1200 & 2000 which is embarrassing & annoying as hell in morning traffic. Then when driving under very low accelerator & coasting along the engine feels like it's gonna die. It does it in all gears & RPMs when coasting along, slowing down so no accelerator & when I'm barely touching the accelerator. As soon as the engine warms up the problem stops & driving later in the day when the temp has warmed up same. Due to the other problems I've had I've already replaced 1 hell of a lot is bits including, ht leads, spark plugs, ignition coils, both vvc solenoids, idle air control valve, throttle position sensor, had to do the accelerator cable as that snapped, I've taken my Pipercross Viper apart & cleaned that then re-oiled it, I changed the coolant & water, done an oil & filter change, head gasket & stretch bolts. I even had to change my sports cat back to standard as 1 problem I was having killed the internals totally. When I hook up to an EOBD reader I get no code. If anyone has had the same problem & can help I'd be super grateful as it's really starting to get me down now, I love my MgF & wouldn't change her but it's got to a point where I have no more money to keep fixing her.
Also I'd there another part of MgRover.org that I could put this problem into to try & get some more responses & help.
