Buying Advice

Hi all



I am looking to buy my first car and I have found two deals for a Rover 25 that I can afford. I really don't know anything about cars in general so I thought I might ask opinions here first.



My main problem is that the two models I found are quite different in terms of year, trim and miles. I was able to roughly get the same price on them.



Car 1 - Rover 25 IL 2.0D - Green



Year: 2001

Miles: 90.000

MOT: 1 year

Paint: slight bubbles around the boot lock.



Car 2 - Rover 25 GLI 2.0D - Blue



Year: 2005

Miles: 71.000

MOT: 1 year

Paint: extensive rusting and paint peel on the drivers door.





Cats are about 1450£ delivered to my door. I live in Aberdeen and finding cheap car deal around here is a pain. So I figured I would buy the car away from here and have it delivered.



Insurance wise I get quotes between 1000 and 900. The pain of being newly licensed driver I guess.



My total budget would be 3000£ so with both deals I hover around 2500£ which is good.



Please offer suggestions advice. Both cars seem to be in good working order. The 2001 has just passed mot with no advisories. The 2005 would get not the day I purchase it.



I am leaning towards the 2005 model, which overall seems a better deal, but the rust worries me a bit.



I plan to keep the car for 2/3 years as I learn to drive better.
