Clicking accelerator pedal

My TF was suffering with a sticky throttle and so I had a new accelerator cable fitted which solved the problem. The next day however, the accelerator pedal seemed to have acquired a click. When you press the pedal down, there is a click followed by another click as you press further down. I have to press the pedal down past these 2 clicks before the throttle will engage. Don't know if this is connected to the new cable or a new problem. Anyone ever had this?
