Compliance Bushes
Over the past few days the TF was at the garage to source a knocking at the rear. The garage, inspected the underneath etc and deemed all was in order, all bushes etc were in good condition but couldnt find the source of the knocking.
We test drove the car together and agreed the noise was coming from both sides. The noise can be heard on small bumps, doesnt need to be speed humps etc. The noise is not clunking or a heavy noise if you know what I mean.
As nothing is showing as failed bushes etc mechanic thinks it may be the rear shockers as the noise it at both sides. We decided to wait and see if it gets worse or if the source becomes more evident.
It's been suggested by a couple of TF owners the complaince bushes may be at fault. Maybe the mechanic has missed them or they are difficult to see? anyway my question is, would failing (or failed ) compliance bushes give this low level knocking noise on minor bumps?
